yasuyuki senda was born in kyoto, japan. he studied architecture and design at the kyoto institute of technology and at the politecnico di milano and later worked in milan at studio facente. after returning to japan in 1998, he worked at his family business, studio karacho makers of karakami (wood-printed paper). he trained as a craftsman under his father and worked as director of the workshop. since 2006, he has worked as a freelance designer.
